A map for a long afternoon

A local’s route through shade, water, and wildflowers.

Start east along the meadow path until the pines close in. Follow the creek when it appears on your left — the shade there holds through the hottest hours.

When the trail opens again, you will find a flat rock wide enough for two. Sit. Eat whatever you packed. Walk back the long way if the light is still kind.
